Three people have been arrested as police crack down on anti-social behaviour in a North Staffordshire town.

The three, two boys aged 17 and a man aged 19, have been arrested in Newcastle - with police aiming to prevent anti-social behaviour in the area.

A Section 35 dispersal order, which gives police patrolling the town the power to order individuals or groups to leave an area, has been authorised for the town.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "The local commander has authorised a Section 35 dispersal order, giving officers the power to separate groups involved in anti-social behaviour.

"We are working hard to prevent ASB and have also arrested two 17-year-old boys and a 19-year-old man. Call 101 if you witness any ASB."

There were a total of 505 reports of anti-social behaviour in Newcastle Town Policing Neighbourhood between January and July 2018, according to Home Office statistics.
