This was the shocking moment a woman was filmed unleashing a foul-mouthed homophobic verbal and physical attack on a North Staffordshire publican.

Ryan Carrington was called a 'fat f****t' during the sickening, four-minute rant outside the Black Friar in Newcastle town centre.

But he managed to stay calm throughout as an onlooker began recording the barrage of abuse.

Ryan today insisted he 'pitied' the woman and urged people to try to help 'educate' her after identifying himself as the man in the video.

He wrote: "This video that someone took was only a fraction of what happened, the reality of what went on was a lot longer. Being a publican I am well aware of the cameras and have to act accordingly, yes my patience was tested, but you have to think of 'pity' for this woman.

"I doubt it's the life she would have chosen if she had a choice! Let's not condemn her, let's try to help and educate, far more rewarding."

Ryan Carrington managed to stay calm during her horrific tirade

Ryan's partner, Justin Carrington, wrote: "He is my partner I was totally shocked when I watched this he was working in the bar at the time. nobody goes to work [to] be abused."

The shocking incident happened at the High Street boozer last Friday (August 16).

The clip - first published on the Facebook page 'Antisocial Britain' - begins by showing the man standing by the entrance of the pub vaping while the woman is heard shouting at him.

She said: "You f***ing fat f***ot!", with Ryan replying "I know."

Despite this, the woman continues to hurl abuse at him, this time pointing her finger in his face saying: "You're a gay bod, and you don't like f***ing women, that's what your f***ing problem is."

At one point the woman started physically attacking Ryan

As the confrontation continues, the woman grows even more aggressive.

She pushes Ryan twice, knocking him off balance.

At this point, Ryan gets angry and lunges towards the woman saying: "Push me again and I will f***ing deck you. Stay away from me."

He puts his hand out to protect himself as the woman continues to aggravate him.

Despite Ryan repeatedly saying 'stay away from me' the woman strikes him in the back of the head and says: "Don't you f***ing say stay away from me."

Ryan than raises both hands out to the side and vapes calmly as he continues to receive a torrent of homophobic abuse.

Ryan said he pitied the woman

At this point, the woman continuously slaps and pushes him.

She carries on punching him as police sirens can be heard in the background.

Towards the end of the clip, officers were spotted breaking up the incident.

The footage was captioned: "Drunken woman launches homophobic attack. Posted to educate the public about LGBT issues on our streets."

Ryan attempted to keep the woman away

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to a report of a fight between a man and a woman outside Black Friar pub on High Street in Newcastle just after 9pm on Friday (August 16). No-one was injured.

"A 52-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of public order and bailed until September 9."
