The first images have been released of a huge new four-storey soft play centre which is opening in Staffordshire soon.

The mega-sized children's attraction called Play World will boast trampolines, ball pools, slides, tunnel and obstacle courses.

It will be suitable for babies, toddlers and children.

Work is due to be completed in July before it opens to the public.

And it's great news for Stoke-on-Trent parents struggling to entertain the little ones as the play centre is just 40 minutes down the road in Burton.

Meadowside Leisure Centre is currently undergoing a revamp which will also include installing a large gym with 120 work-out machines, as well as a Clip 'n' Climb' climbing wall activity area and new-look changing rooms.

Burton Live has been told there will be no impact to activities during the refurbishment, and the squash courts will remain open.

There will be minimal disruption to changing facilities when these are updated, however customers will be contacted directly with details on a temporary solution.

The refurbishment comes after  private firm Everyone Active  was awarded a 10-year contract by East Staffordshire Borough Council in November 2018, to manage Meadowside Leisure Centre, Uttoxeter Leisure Centre, Shobnall Leisure Complex and the Active East Staffs programme.

As part of the partnership, Everyone Active and the council will be investing a combined £1.7 million into the flagship centres, with updates also planned for Uttoxeter Leisure Centre and Shobnall Leisure Complex.

The £1.7 million will see the council contributing £1 million and Everyone Active £700,000.

There have been concerns among some users that the company might charge users whatever fees they choose, sparking fears of increases.

However, the firm has said it would honour all existing customers’ membership pricing for a year while conducting a full review for new customers.

The takeover has not come without problems, after it was revealed in February that leisure centre users were hit with  major delays just days  after Everyone Active took the reins due to issues with its new computer system.
