Temple Dor Dorim, 2360 Glades Circle in Weston, is offering Shalom Belly, a new childbirth preparation course taking place on four different weekends from summer 2019 through spring 2020. Its summer cohort weekend intensive course takes place from Aug. 3-4.

The course includes training on childbirth education taught by a registered doula; a session with Rabbi David Novak, the synagogue’s new interim rabbi, about traditional and new Jewish rituals for baby naming; an experiential workshop; prenatal partner yoga; breakfast and community building opportunities and more. Novak will also lead havdallah on Saturday.

As a recipient of the Yetta Sher Award from the Jewish Federation of Broward County, the synagogue is able to offer this childbirth preparation series at a heavily subsidized rate. Early bird rate to take part in the summer cohort is $118 per couple through July 19 and $136 after that. Register at dordorim.org/belly. The fall cohort takes place from Nov. 16-17, winter from Feb. 1-2, and spring from May 2-3. Contact Rachel Kaplan at rkaplan@templedordorim.org or 954-389-1232 ext. 126 for questions.
