Bullpen, bench beat Nats 4-3 in 10 innings

The Braves homered three times including a two-run pinch-hit blast in the 10th inning by Johan Camargo that was the difference in a 4-3 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday.

Mike Soroka exits Sunday’s game after being hit by a pitch

It wasn’t all good news for Atlanta on Sunday. Mike Soroka left the game after just two innings after he was hit in the right forearm by a pitch during an at-bat. X-rays came back negative and the hope is that he will be ready for his next start on Friday in New York.

Braves option Mike Foltynewicz to Gwinnett, recall Chad Sobotka

As expected, the Braves optioned right-hander Mike Foltynewicz to Gwinnett Sunday morning. Chad Sobotka was recalled to take his place on the active roster. The team did not announce who would replace Foltynewicz in the rotation for his scheduled start on Thursday.

Sean Newcomb expected to return Tuesday

Sean Newcomb completed a rehab outing Monday night and is on track to return to the active roster on Tuesday according to a report by the AJC’s Gabe Burns. Newcomb is expected to resume a bullpen role upon his return and it is unlikely that he will be called upon to start Thursday’s game in place of Mike Foltynewicz.
