Threat of severe weather forces Florida A&M to open at noon Friday

Florida A&M University now will re-open all campus operations at noon Friday.

The threat of severe weather in the Tallahassee area overnight resulted in Florida State and Florida A&M universities opening later Friday morning.

Florida State’s Tallahassee campus will close at 3 a.m. Friday and re-open at 10 a.m. This include the FSU Coastal and Marine Lab at Turkey Point.

Essential personnel should make contact with supervisors to determine if they are required to report to campus at a different time, according to a release from FSU.

Residence halls and dining services will continue with normal operations, FSU said.

Florida A&M’s campus also will be closed 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday. This includes the Crestview campus.

The Dining Room and all retail food outlets on FAMU's campus are scheduled to be open at 11 a.m. Friday.

FAMU DRS and Florida High will be closed Friday. Leon County Schools were already set to be closed for Good Friday.
