Two homes caught fire during the holiday weekend in Tallahassee.

A single-wide mobile home at 1519 Halftrack St. on the west side of town caught fire Friday evening, according to a press release. The owner was home at the time of the blaze, but was uninjured.

TFD worked throughout the evening to control the fire and was able to put it out. TFD investigators are still looking into what caused the burn, which left damages estimated at $40,000.

The American Red Cross assisted the home owner and Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County Sheriffs Office and Leon County EMS helped TFD on the scene.

Sunday night at 7:58 p.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department put out a fire which was vented through the roof at a single-family home on the 3200 block of Notre Dame St, according to a press release. TFD was able to save much of the house, though estimated damages are $25,000.

No injuries were reported. A pot of grease left on the stove caused the fire,  firefighters say.

The Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS and the American Red Cross helped at the scene.
