Tallahassee teen struck on U.S. 90 by Jackson County deputy

A 19-year-old man from Tallahassee was seriously injured Thursday morning after he was hit by a Jackson County sheriff's deputy.

Kevionte Webb was standing in the inside lane on U.S. 90 near the yellow painted flog line and was wearing dark colored clothing when Lt. Quinton Hollis struck him.

According to investigators, Hollis was in an unmarked vehicle and was traveling westbound on the highway in the inside lane around 3:30 a.m. when he hit Webb and propelled him into a median.

Webb was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Tallahassee Democrat reached out to the Jackson County Sheriff Department but they declined to comment.
