Tallahassee shooting leaves 1 dead a day after launch of task force to take on gun violence
The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a shooting on the 2900 block of Sharer Road that left one dead.
This comes a day after the announcement of an unprecedented operation involving federal, state and local law enforcement to crack down on gun violence.

TPD responded to the incident at 6 p.m. when they arrived on the scene and found the victim dead.
TPD provided no other details, including the name, age or gender of the victim. TPD provides few details about active investigations and does not release any information about victims, pointing to its interpretation of Marsy's Law.

According to data compiled by the Tallahassee Democrat, this is the 36th shooting in 2019 and the seventh case where someone has been killed.
This also marks the first shooting for the month of June, coming off May where there were at least a dozen shootings.
