A Tallahassee man is being accused of raping an 11-year-old girl off and on for the past three years.

David Ashenfelder, 55, is facing three charges of sexual assault of a child under 12 after admitting to repeatedly having sex with the minor to Leon County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

He is being held in the Leon County Detention Facility without bond.

The girl told investigators the first time they interacted in 2017, they both wound up naked in a hotel bed. The girl said she remembered few details because she was only 8.

Wednesday, Ashefelder laid down in bed with the girl, according to LCSO, and removed her clothes and kissed her before having sex with her. She told LCSO deputies he took photos of her and warned not to tell anyone because he could get into trouble.

When questioned Ashenfelder confirmed the details of the incidents and said that he’d had sex with the minor several times in the past week.

“Ashenfelder advised he never raped her and that (the victim) would ask him about how things work when it came to boys and girls,” arrest records said.
