Boy on bike injured in north-side Tallahassee crash

There are no obvious signs of foul play in the death of a man whose body was found in a Fred George Road wood line, according to investigators.

A 12-year-old boy was injured Tuesday night after his bicycle was struck by a van at Thomasville and Bradfordville roads, according to the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

The boy was taken to the hospital afterward with injuries not considered life-threatening, said Deputy David Teems, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office. He was listed in stable condition.

"The 12 year old rode out in front of the vehicle," Teems said. "As the bicycle was crossing Bradfordville Road, the vehicle struck the bicyclist."

The crash is under investigation. But Teems said it appears no crime was committed.
