Wienermobile rolling into Tallahassee

Tallahassee Democrat
The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile was first introduced in 1936. “The Oscar Mayer Weiner Song” helped make the company a household name in the ‘60s.

Make way for a giant wiener on wheels.

The famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will make a Tallahassee stop from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Winn-Dixie on Magnolia Drive.

It's a perfect chance to snap a picture with the 27-foot grilled fiberglass hot dog nestled into a fiberglass bun. Residents can meet the "hotdoggers" and receive coupons and wiener whistles.

Six Wienermobiles are trekking the states in a cross country tour. The first tour was in 1936.

To date, the Wienermobile travels are chronicled on social media sites like Twitter and Instagram, which show a collage of humorous sightings in tourist havens and unusual places.
