We have a date.

Expect the new Walk-On's Bistreaux & Bar to open its first Tallahassee location in December, the company announced today. The Cajun sports bar whipped residents into a social media frenzy after the Tallahassee Democrat reported the chain restaurant's interest in the capital city.

Boom Boom Shrimp Poboy.

“We’re extremely excited to bring everyone in the Tallahassee area a Walk-On's to call their own,” said Founder Brandon Landry, in a statement. “Our team could not be more pleased to grow with this tremendous development group as we expand to 28 locations and beyond. I look forward to witnessing how the community reacts to our arrival and hope that everyone enjoys themselves.”

Some of the signature items include the Boom Boom Shrimp Po'boy and the Mardi Gras Mahi, a blackened mahi mahi dish with crawfish mushroom sauce, corn grits, onion strings, and a side of garlic bread.

The restaurant will replace TGIFridays (3390 Northeast Capital Circle), which is closing on July 29 after more than two decades

The company is building an 8,000-square-foot restaurant with a 1,500 square-foot patio. The Tallahassee site is one of four new locations coming to Florida, including Orlando.

Once the location opens, a company spokeswoman said the Tallahassee restaurant will bring up to 200 new jobs to the community.
