I have a serious sneaker problem. I accumulate them at a rate that far exceeds the amount of running or athletic activities I do. But it turns out, running shoes are no longer just for jogging or sports-related purposes. The multi-purpose shoes have a standing reservation as my footwear of choice for their ability to match any outfit, effortlessly making the fit look cooler. Plus, they’re SO comfy. I can walk all day and my feet don’t ache, an accolade none of my other shoes can boast.

Lucky for me, there are new sneaker drops every single week. The constant replenishment of fresh kicks means us sneaker fans always have something new to lust after and can change up our looks frequently.

Here are some kicks that caught my eye this week:

Most Nostalgic: Loewe's Ballet Runners

When I think Loewe, my mind doesn’t immediately jump to sneakers. Instead, I think of their puzzle bags or statement sunglasses that have been everywhere this season. But alas, here we are with Loewe’s ballet sneaker being one of my top picks of the week. The vintage silhouette is the opposite of bulky, hence the “ballet” runner, making them a sleek choice to pair with wide-legged jeans or a dress. Loewe’s sneakers remind me of a pair of vintage orange Puma’s I wore everyday when I was 13. I’m ready for my upgrade.

Best Collab: Awake NY x Asics

I never thought Asics—the shoes I wear to actually run in—could be so cool. But of course, the company's collab with cool-kid brand Awake NY is nothing but. “Launched in 2012, Awake NY captures the unique cultural spirit and sensibility of New York City...Simultaneously classic and contemporary, Awake NY evokes both the changing aesthetic vibrancy and timelessness of New York,” their website states. The sneaker collab, which features a white/green and a gold/black shoe, certainly encompass their goal of being both contemporary and classic.

The sneakers will be released June 25 online and they’ll look even better a little roughed up. So live a little in these kicks!

Most Colorful: Converse x OPI

Have you ever wanted to match your shoes to your nail color? This isn’t something I knew I wanted until Converse recently launched a collab with nail polish brand OPI. I’ve always been obsessed with nail polish names and naturally the shoes have equally cool tags — the shoes come in colors such as “Pump Up The Volume” yellow, “Positive Vibes Only” purple, “Dance Party ‘Teal Dawn” and “V-I-Pink Passes.”

The bonus? Each pair comes with a four-pack of mini-OPI polishes (I recommend wearing all four at once). Plus, if you scuff up your shoe, you can always go in and touch them up with the corresponding nail color.

Best Campaign: Vans x Opening Ceremony

The satin finish on the latest Vans x Opening Ceremony shoe gives it an elegant aura, meaning you can get away with wearing these sneakers at a formal event. The colors of this collection (burnt orange and emerald, pale pink and orange, sky blue and silver) really stand out, replicating colors we’ve been seeing a lot of this season. Plus, Opening Ceremony recruited Leo Reilly, a Los Angeles-based visual artist to shoot the campaign. Leo’s known for his fun editing and photoshopping on his Instagram and the images in the campaign are surreal. Think: body doubles flying through the air. The other-dimension quality of the photoshopped images perfectly match the uniqueness of the sneaker. You can cop these sneakers tomorrow on the OC website.
