Fitchburg State University last week announced it is adding a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management to its expanding online MBA program.

The new MBA is designed for working professionals, according to the school. It features fully online coursework and can be completed in as little as a year. Fitchburg State is charging $12,510 in fees for the program, which does not require a GMAT or GRE exam for admission.

“Situated as we are in in a region known as a hub for health care innovation and research, it is a natural move for Fitchburg State to extend our online MBA programs, which emphasize management, into the high-demand sector of health care,” professor Beverley A. Hollingsworth, chair of the MBA program, said in a statement. “We designed this program to be both affordable and student-centered, to attract a diverse audience seeking an accessible MBA program that focuses on effectively improving our health care system.”

The program will teach a “spectrum of health care marketing, finance and legal topics,” according to the university, as well as “participatory learning” through online class discussions and learning groups.
