ORANGE - A New Hampshire woman has been identified as the truck driver killed in the crash of a tractor-trailer that closed Route 2 for hours Friday night and into Saturday afternoon.

Lois A. Johnson, 62, of Woodstock died when the truck she was driving ran off the side of the westbound exit at West River Street, and rolled onto its side. The truck was pulling a 53-foot trailer carrying cylinders of pressurized natural gas.

After the crash, some of the cylinders were found to be leaking, authorities said. The road was closed while a hazardous materials team secured the cylinders.

The truck had a hazardous materials placard on it indicating it was carrying methane, a primary component of natural gas. State police spokesman David Procopio said the truck was properly marked to indicate the materials it was carrying.

The truck and trailer are owned by NG Advantage of Vermont. The cryogenic transport company is KAG Merchant Gas of Ohio.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
