Hozier to play Nashville's Opry House on tour

Hozier performs at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, in Austin, Texas.

This past September, Irish singer-songwriter Hozier was just 20 minutes away from taking the stage at the Pilgrimage Festival in Franklin, Tenn.

That's when the threat of thunderstorms led the festival to shut down — and stay closed for the rest of the weekend.

Needless, to say, Nashville-area fans have been waiting a while to see Andrew Hozier-Byrne in concert, and the wait's nearly over.

On March 24, Hozier will bring his tour to Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House — a venue that boasts roughly 4,000 seats, a rich musical legacy and best of all, a nice, sturdy roof.

Hozier says the upcoming tour will coincide with the release of his sophomore album, "Wasteland Baby!" An exact release date is TBA, but last month, he released the project's first single, "Movement."

"Wasteland" is the follow-up to Hozier's self-titled debut and its smash single, "Take Me to Church" (which actually broke in the U.S. thanks to Nashville radio station Lightning 100).

Tickets for Hozier's March 24 concert at the Opry House go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, December 14.
