Nashville police: Antioch man accidentally shoots, kills brother in home

Metro police say one man is dead after an accidental double shooting in Antioch.

Eric Macias, 26, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center Monday morning, where he later died, MNPD reported. 

Macias was in his Antioch residence with his brother, 21, who was handling a semi-automatic pistol. It discharged, police say, and Macias was struck in the chest. 

The shooting was reported just before 11:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Cedar Cliff Road just east of Bell Road, officials said.

According to initial reports, the two brothers were playing with a gun when it went off.

No charges have been placed related to the shooting
