Tanker crash on I-24 in Nashville claims 57-year-old man's life

Metro police on Friday identified a Nashville man killed Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash at the Interstate 24 and 40 split in Hermitage is identified as Raymond Lejeune, 57.

A preliminary investigation shows that about 7:30 p.m., Lejeune was driving a 2020 Freightliner tanker truck on I-24 west when he attempted to negotiate the curve from I-24 onto I-40 east and traveled off the roadway.

The truck collided with a rock wall and rolled over, police reported.

Lejeune, who wore a seatbelt, died at the scene. 

There was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
