Authorities do not know why Love was at Coulter's home, but reported Love was in a relationship with a woman who has children with Coulter. The two men were involved in a recent dispute, according to police, and Coulter allegedly threatened Love with a shovel on a previous date.

Police responded to the residence at about 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon after a neighbor called 911. Coulter texted the neighbor to say that he killed someone, according to MNPD.

Coulter's ex-girlfriend, who has not been identified by police, also alerted authorities after Coulter called her Thursday afternoon. She reported he video called her to tell her about the shooting and said that "he was not going to prison," according to police.

Coulter died shortly after police arrived at the home.
