Suspect at large following apparent drug-related shooting at Nashville Waffle House

Nashville police are searching for a suspect after a person was shot in an apparent drug-related robbery at a Nashville Waffle House on Wednesday, officials said.

Crews responded at 11:50 a.m. to the shooting call at 707 Stewarts Ferry Pike just off Bell Road near Percy Priest Lake.

Arriving officers learned a person had been shot at the business. The person was taken to a hospital and, as of midday Wednesday, was listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

According a preliminary investigation, the victim and suspect had been at a hotel in the area before the shooting. At some point, an altercation took place resulting in the shooting outside the Waffle House.

After the shooting, the suspect fled the area in a dark colored Volkswagen and remained at large as of 2:15 p.m., according to police. 

Police said the victim refused to identify the shooting suspect or cooperate with detectives. At the scene Wednesday afternoon, the entire parking lot was surrounded by yellow crime scene tape.
