SUMB***! These are the personalized plates Tennessee rejected

Tennessee knows what "AF" means and does not want you to put it on your license plate.

That's one of the takeaways from a list of personalized license plates the state rejected during the past 12 months.

"When reviewing personalized license plate requests, Department of Revenue personnel research whether such requests are of an obscene nature, gang related or unacceptable for a similar reason. If it is determined the request is unacceptable, it is denied," Kelly Cortesi, director of communications for the Department of Revenue, said in an email.

This year's list also has something in common with last year's: Three different spellings of HELLCAT were requested.

A bill sponsored by Rep. Bill Sanderson would make the phrase "In God We Trust" optional on Tennessee license plates.

Below is a list of some of the plate configurations that have been rejected in the past 12 months. (Reader discretion is advised.)
