A suspect who the Robertson County Sheriff's Office say fatally shot a motorcyclist in Cross Plains on Monday night has turned himself into police, authorities said.

Deputies responded to a call of a motorcyclist being shot at the intersection of East Robertson Road and Friendship Road about 7:30 p.m and found Brandon Rettich, 42, fatally wounded, sheriff's office spokeswoman Jessica Drake said.

The shooting suspect, identified as 22-year-old Marquis Waller, fled the scene in a yellow Ford Mustang with a black stripe, authorities said.

He turned himself into the Robertson County Detention Facility Tuesday night.

An initial investigation, Drake said, determined the shooting was not random and that Rettich was shot during an ongoing dispute with Waller.

A criminal homicide warrant was issued for Waller.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 615-382-6600 or dispatch at 615-384-4911.
