New sign, flag poles and flags at the Veterans Memorial Park at Evergreen Lake in Fairview were installed just before 2019 Memorial Day weekend.

A new sign and flag poles were recently erected at Veterans Memorial Park at Evergreen Lake.

The new imagery was a collaborative effort by Fairview American Legion Post 248, the City of Fairview, and the Fairview High School JROTC Raiders.

The City of Fairview is responsible for the new sign, and, according to Tara Kelley, the American Legion Post 248 Adjutant, the legion provided and set up the poles and flags.  She also advised that one of the poles was donated by the JROTC.

“The American Legion helped in design and format and there will be flowers soon around the poles we have been working on getting,” Kelley said. “We are planning a dedication ceremony in July after our fireworks booth.”

Veterans Memorial Park is located on Black Pine Road, just off of Old New Hope Road and Hwy 96 in Fairview.
