Chef Danny Davis at Harvest by LabCanna in Fairview will be cooking up a vast selection of dishes incorporating CBD or hemp.

Harvest By LabCanna, the latest expansion from the Nashville-area LabCanna founders, brings a CBD and hemp-infused menu to Fairview starting June 22.

The menu includes such items such as “Wake’n Bacon Waffle” and “Rasta Pasta Salad,” which the owners state in a press release is a reflection of the cafe being “imbued with a sense of humor” while also taking “health and wellness seriously.”

Hemp or CBD can be integrated into every menu item, ranging from the focal point of the dish (as in the freshly baked hemp heart bread) to a final detail, like the hemp leaf blended into each juice and smoothie.

“We are very excited to join the community of Fairview and bring our passion for food, creativity, and CBD to our neighbors,” said Erin Crawford, general manager of Harvest

Live music will be a regular event, and beer and wine will soon be placed on the menu.

The stated focus of the cafe is: Community involvement to shift the paradigm and have fun while doing it.

Harvest features a coffee bar with various beverages, all with a hemp milk base (macadamia and whole milk will also be available for substitutions), according to the company press release.

Fresh juices and smoothies are made to order, as well as a vast selection of dishes, including but not limited to pastas, salads, breads, waffles, smoked meats and daily specials.

Harvest by LabCanna in Fairview will feature a variety of CBD and hemp-infused menu items.

Harvest’s focus is on health and well-being, bringing gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and vegan options to the front of the menu, giving every palate and diet a spectrum of options--proving that “healthy” and “yummy” can coexist quite nicely.  Supplements and CBD oils are also available for purchase, keeping healing at the root of this hemp centered café.

The grand opening event June 22 will feature a story-filled songwriter round from 7-9 p.m. with Gary Chapman, Aaron Barker, and Chris Wallin, as well as food and drink specials and CBD product discounts all day.

Harvest by LabCanna is located at 1880 Fairview Blvd. and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Joshua Camp, an entrepreneur in Nashville, teamed up with Ian Leadon about five years ago to begin creating LabCanna, the manufacturer of TenneCBD, a line of tinctures and other CBD products sold in about 300 stores nationwide.

The company now has more than 50 employees, a new store in East Nashville, a processing facility in Centerville in Hickman County and just bought a 1,800-acre farm recently.

“It just sort of exploded,” Camp told The Tennessean in a recent interview. “We started with online sales, picking up other people’s products to figure out what worked and what didn’t and where the market demand is.”

“Now we do everything from seed to sale.”

CBD, a common name for cannabidiol, is a substance derived from hemp that is similar to marijuana but has no psychoactive effect. CBD is advertised as having broad medicinal applications — very few of which have been confirmed by scientific studies — and is widely sold in a burgeoning market of oils, lotions, edibles and other consumable products. The demand for CBD has also spurred hemp as a new Tennessee cash crop, appealing to struggling tobacco farmers who are anxious to evolve.
