Friends of the Fairview Public Library book sale scheduled for Aug. 22-24

For The Fairview Observer

It’s back to the books for students and adults with the Friends of the Fairview Public Library Book Sale beginning August 22.  The twice annual sale is a tradition for many in the Fairview area and beyond.

The Friends of the Fairview Public Library Book Sale at the Fairview Public Library, 2240 Fairview Boulevard starts Aug. 22 runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24.

“We continue to get donations through the year and we sort through the books after each sale, so the inventory is always fresh for repeat customers,” said Cheryl Hamilton, the President of the Friends of the Fairview Public Library.  “We have contemporary fiction, biographies, historical novels, cookbooks, children’s books and so much more, both hardback and paperback.”

The book sales generate funds that are used to help meet needs and support programs at the Fairview Public Library.

“We work closely with library staff.  It’s a true partnership,” Hamilton added.
