School closings in Nashville and Middle Tennessee: Early closings and delays

Winter weather is in the forecast for Tennessee on Tuesday afternoon and evening, although there is still uncertainty in the amount of accumulation.

"Don't be surprised with snowflakes on the drive home Tuesday and plan ahead," National Weather Service meteorologist Brendan Schaper said on Monday.

Some places could see 1 inch of snow, with potentially higher amounts depending on the specific location in Middle Tennessee, Schaper said.

Tuesday school closings, delays

Bedford County: Closing two hours early.

Cannon County: Closing at 11:30 a.m.

Cheatham County: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday for illness

Clay County: Closing at 11:30 a.m.

Coffee County: Closing two hours early.

DeKalb County: Closing at 11:30 a.m.

Dickson County: On a two-hour delay Tuesday. Day cares open at regular time.

Fentress County: Closing at 11:30 a.m.

Franklin Special School District: Dismissing two hours early. 

Houston County: Opening two hours late.

Humphreys County: Opening two hours late.

Hickman County: Open two hours late. 

Lawrence County: Closing early at noon.

Clarskville-Montgomery County Schools: Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools will be on a two-hour delay Tuesday, Dec. 10, due to expected winter weather.

Marshal County: Closing two hours early.

Overton County: Closing early at noon.

Pickett County: Closing early at noon.

Rutherford County: Closing two hours early.

Van Buren County: Closing at noon.

Warren County: Closing at 11:30 a.m.

White County: Closing early at noon.

Williamsonn County: Dismissing two hours early. School Aged Child Care will operate on a regular schedule.
