The It’s Your Neighbourhood accolades, from Keep Scotland Beautiful, were presented to seven groups, who received varying levels of the prize.
Bee Happy Houston, Erskine Community Garden, Grow Your Own Way and Friends of Barshaw Park were all deemed as ‘thriving’ by the environmental charity.
Meanwhile, the top level award, where groups were deemed ‘outstanding’, went to Grow in Glenburn and Lochwinnoch Sustainable Community Garden Group.
Elderslie Community Council were handed an award and were deemed as ‘improving’.
Dr Lindsay Montgomery, chairman, board of charity trustees, at Keep Scotland Beautiful said:“I would like to congratulate all of the 2018 It’s Your Neighbourhood groups. Their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment has helped to deliver significant local environmental improvements across the country.”
It’s Your Neighbourhood is a non-competitive initiative which places emphasis on community participation.
