A REPORT has named Brighton as the second most progressive city in the UK to live and work in.

Data was analysed to rank cities, awarding Oxford the top spot.

Brighton was awarded second place thanks to the wide range of vegan and vegetarian eateries available. P

lant-based diets are known to have a lower carbon footprint, which was an influencing factor for the list.

The report by Fintech Company Bankrate for Yahoo also states there is a clear link between progressiveness and students, with the top ten cities (including Cambridge, Exeter, Bristol and Cardiff) having a strong student presence.
