Developer gets go ahead for Nottinghamshire farm site scheme

A group of neglected buildings on a North Nottinghamshire village farm are on track to be developed after plans to bring four new properties were granted planning permission.

Field House Farm on Cossall Road in the village of Trowell currently hosts a farm house, along with a range of traditional, derelict agricultural buildings and stables.

Regeneration plans, submitted by Strawsons Property and approved by Broxtowe Borough Council, include three, three-bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit, as well as visitor car parking and garages.

Haydn Short of Strawsons Property said: “Field House Farm presents an opportunity to bring back into use redundant agricultural buildings of merit which is an intrinsically sustainable method of boosting dwelling numbers and is inline with both local and national planning policy.

“It is a beautiful location, and the plans which have been approved are designed to ensure that the surroundings are further complemented by the new development which reflects a notable footprint reduction on the current offering.

“Due to its Green Belt status new developments in the area are not common, and given that the village is within easy reach of both Nottingham and Derby we anticipate that interest will be very high once brought to market.”
