Rolling Stones, Queen and U2 tribute acts to play Dundee’s next Fake Festival

Fake Festival at Lochee Park, 2017.

Some of the UK’s top tribute acts will return to rock Lochee Park next summer.

Fake Festival will be back for a third year, with the music of icons such as the Rolling Stones, U2 and Queen being performed by some of the country’s most entertaining cover bands.

The success of this year’s sold-out event has prompted organisers to announce the line-up for next year’s concert.

Headlining the event will be Queen tribute Flash, the Killers’ impersonators the Fillers and Rolling Stones imitators the Stones.

Joining them will be Duran, the Jam’d and New2.

Fake Festival attracted 1,200 music fans for its inaugural event last year and has doubled its line-up for this year.

Revellers lapped up hits from Kazabian, The Fillers, Guns2Roses, Blondied, the Really Hot Chili Peppers and Alladinsane – a tribute to David Bowie.

Concert-goers will be sheltered by a huge marquee and stage in the park as the bands run through classic covers.

Organisers described Fake Festival as “a fabulous opportunity for families and local communities to enjoy a fun-packed music day out together”.

They add: “We’re bringing six of our ‘fake bands’ to Dundee – professional ‘touring-grade’ tribute bands that put on a superb performance.

“They look, sound and move like the real rock-stars – you have to see them to believe it.”

A licensed bar will be available inside the marquee all day, using a drink token system, with independent traders providing a range of refreshments.
