Police called to bust-up involving two adults at Perth indoor play centre

Four police cars attended what police believe to be an assault at Old Gallows Road, Perth.
Four police cars attended what police believe to be an assault at Old Gallows Road, Perth.

Police were called to a Tayside soft play area on Monday after claims two adults got into a scuffle outside.

Around a dozen officers in four marked cars raced to the Noah’s Perth centre on the city’s Western Edge following reports of an alleged assault.

Police at the scene.

The venue, which was busy with school holidaymakers, remained open while police questioned staff and visitors.

Police said no children were involved but confirmed investigations were continuing.

No one has been charged in connection with the incident.

Officers were on scene for about an hour and a half.

A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland attended a children’s play centre in Old Gallows Road in Perth at about 12.30pm on Monday, April 8, in response to a reported disturbance.

“An allegation of assault has been received and is now being investigated.”

Management at Noah’s confirmed the incident had involved two members of the public.

A spokesman said it had happened in the car park outside the popular venue, which is home to an indoor soft play and ceramics area, as well as a go karting track and ten pin bowling arena.

One eyewitness told The Courier: “I was over at the mini golf and I saw four or five police cars suddenly come over the bridge. The first couple had their sirens on.

“They headed round towards the main building and parked up at the other end, near to the entrance.

“By the time that I got round to the front door, the police were speaking to two women separately by the ceramics room.

“There were more officers looking after the children. I think there were about 10 there altogether.

“It’s certainly out of the ordinary for a day at an indoor play centre.”
