A man accused of murdering 22-year-old Barry Dixon at a flat in Perth has been fully committed for trial.
Robbie Smullen was remanded in custody following a second, private appearance at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday.
The 21-year-old, of Carnegie Place, is accused on attacking and murdering Mr Dixon by striking him on the body with a knife, to his severe injury and to the danger of his life.
It is further alleged that on June 3, at Perth’s Nimmo Avenue, Smullen assaulted another man Paul Booth, engaged in a fight with him and struck him on the face with his fist, all to his injury.
Smullen made no plea during the petition hearing.
Mr Dixon was found on a top floor property in the city’s Wallace Court on the morning of Tuesday, June 4.
He was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where he later died of his injuries.
The family of the former Braeview Academy pupil paid tribute in a statement released by Police Scotland.
They said: “Barry, a loving grandson, son, brother and nephew, has been taken from us so young and we are devastated.
“He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was kind-hearted and generous, and will be missed greatly by all of us.”
Friends also flooded social media with tributes and messages of condolence.
