Roxbury school to hire superintendent

The Roxbury Central School Board of Education has announced Jeff Bennett will become its next school superintendent.

Bennett was one of two finalists who spent a day in the district being interviewed by various stakeholder groups, according to a media release. Bennett “has a wide variety of experiences in both education and the private sector,” the release said, and that background, “coupled with his commitment to providing quality educational experiences and his willingness to engage stakeholders, will serve our students and our community well.”

The appointment became official at a special board meeting on Thursday, Nov. 21. Bennett will start his duties in Roxbury on Jan. 2, according to the school district’s website.
