Burgi Deyette peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020, from cancer at home in Montesano surrounded by her family. She was born to Johann and Anna Rebitzer on March 18, 1940, in Heiligenkreuz, Germany.

Burgi grew up in Giesing, Germany and graduated from Giesing High School at 16 years old. She then ventured into a trade school in Ludwigsburg, Germany until the age of 18, then shortly after completion, managed a grocery store for two years.

She met G.I. Gary Deyette, on Aug. 5, 1960, and were married in Ludwigsburg, Germany. In August of 1963, they moved to the United States. On April 14, 1978, after many classes and tests, Burgi became a citizen of the United States. Boy was she proud!

Together Burgi and Gary, along with their children, lived in Shelton for two years before moving to Montesano, where she lived for 54 years.

She was able to stay home and raise their two children, David and Connie. She sold Avon for 30 years, which she loved doing, and made many of her lifelong friendships through Avon calling.

Burgi was a very active charter member of the Montesano Moose Lodge since 1985. Her number one hobby was spending time with her “grandkids,” hands down. She also loved bowling, camping, relaxing in her pool, gardening, celebrating all of the holidays, doing puzzles, going to the woods, picking mushrooms and playing slots. Gary and Burgi enjoyed 12 years of snow birding to Yuma and Bullhead city where they really enjoyed hanging out in Algodones, Mexico with their friends. She was an avid Mariners fan, watching them play daily. “Go Mariners”. Burgi loved spending time with friends and family, sitting out front of her house visiting with the neighbors and waving to those who passed by.

Her tag line was “Have a wonderful day,” and she firmly believed Cancer Sucks!

Burgi is survived by her children David (Val) Deyette of Olympia; Connie (Randy) Warne of Montesano; brother Hans (Helga) Rebitzer of Olympia; grandchildren, “loves of her life,” Jayme (Bobby) McBride, Riley Warne, Jennifer (Josh) Nelson and Spencer (Sarah) Warne; great-grandchildren, “bonus loves”, Bentley, Raider, and Lenny Warne, Eastin Wright, Ryder Nelson, Kayne Guzman, Olivia and Abigail McBride: as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews she loved. There were also many lifelong friends she treasured. You know who you are. She is preceded in death by her parents Johann and Anna Rebitzer and her husband, Gary Deyette.
