BISMARCK - In what served to be a playoff preview, the Dickinson High boys basketball team fell on the road to Bismarck St. Mary’s 57-49 on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from the Bismarck St. Mary’s High School Gym.
With the score tied at 18 entering halftime, the two teams each attempted 30 shots from the field in the second half. While the Saints were an impressive 50 percent from the floor, the Midgets could not match their opponent, going 8-for-30 in the final 18 minutes. The road team drained a tick under 25 percent of its shot through the entire game.
Behind five 3-pointers, Dickinson High sophomore Jayden Hocker had a game-high 19 points. Junior guard Kobe Krenz and Jaiden Wright each had 11 points, while Wright also cleaned up the glass to the tune of 15 rebounds.
Senior guard Ben Schmidt led the Saints with 16 points and five rebounds.
Dickinson and Bismarck St. Mary’s will do battle again on Friday, as the Midgets will host the Saints in a West Region Play-In game.
