HENDERSON, Ky. - The 2019 Lions Club Arts and Crafts Festival at Audubon State Park had one beautiful day on Saturday, Oct. 5, followed by a Sunday with a fair amount of rain.

But that rainfall apparently didn't dampen the spirits of shoppers. Organizers are calling the event "a huge success."

Preliminary figures show the club made nearly $17,000 in profit, after expenses from this year's arts and crafts festival.

That money that remains in Henderson for eyesight conservation programs and grants to local non-profit organizations.

According to Lions Club spokesman Myrle Partridge, "About 1,800 cars entered the park during the two-day event, bringing an estimated 5,500 visitors who shopped at 126 arts and crafts and food booths."

Partridge said that more than 60 vendors have already signed up for the 2020 Henderson Lions Arts and Crafts Festival at Audubon State Park. Next year’s festival will be held the weekend of Oct. 3-4.

The next big event for the Henderson Lions is the annual Online and Television Auction. That event is set for Feb. 10-15, with a live auction set to cap things off on Saturday, Feb. 15.
