All Associated Press members in Kentucky are eligible to participate in the high school football poll. Those who voted for this week's poll are: The Daily Independent, Ashland; Daily News, Bowling Green; Kentucky Enquirer, Cincinnati; Times-Tribune, Corbin; The News-Enterprise, Elizabethtown; KPG Football, Owensboro; Glasgow Daily Times, Glasgow; Daily Enterprise, Harlan; The Gleaner, Henderson; Kentucky New Era, Hopkinsville; Lexington Herald-Leader, Lexington; The Courier-Journal, Louisville; The Ledger Independent, Maysville; The Mayfield Messenger, Mayfield; The Paducah Sun, Paducah; WKYX, Paducah.

First District rival McCracken County (5-2) remained seventh in the AP poll after an open date last week. The Mustangs host Dyer County, Tennessee, this week before playing at Henderson County on Oct. 25 in a game that will likely decide the 6-A First District championship.

The district winner will host the No. 4 seed in the first round of the playoffs with the No. 2 seed meeting the No. 3 seed.

McCracken County leads the district standings at 3-0, while Henderson County is 2-0. Daviess County is 1-1, while Apollo and Marshall County are both winless at 0-2 and 0-3, respectively. Apollo visits Marshall County this week.

The KHSAA released its updated RPI ratings on Monday. Henderson County is ranked eighth in 6A, just behind McCracken County.

The RPI rankings will not come into play until the third round of the playoffs when they will be used for seeding purposes. As it stands now, either Henderson County or McCracken County would potentially play at top-ranked Male in the third round of the playoffs.
