A 20-year-old girl committed suicide late on Saturday after her parents snatched her mobile phone in Shankarpalli of Rangareddy district.
According to sub-inspector Sajeev, N Sruthi was pursuing engineering second year in SSJ Engineering College at Vattinagulapalli. On Saturday, Sruthi's parents chided her for speaking continuously over the phone and snatched it.
Depressed over it, Sruthi doused herself with kerosene before setting herself on fire. She has succumbed to grievous burn injuries. Based on the complaint registered by Sruthi's mother, the police registered a case.
