Post-mortem scheduled today; he was studying psychology

A 22-year-old student of Jamia Millia Islamia was found dead at his rented accommodation in south-east Delhi’s Okhla Vihar on Monday, the police said, adding that no note has been recovered.

A senior officer said the deceased from Kerala was in his first year of masters in psychology.

“He was living in a rented accommodation with two roommates and both of them were not home at the time. One of them returned at 3.30 p.m. and found the youth dead,” the officer said.

He was then taken to Holy Family Hospital by his roommates. He was later shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre where he was declared dead, the police said. His family has been informed. The police said that a probe has been initiated and the post-mortem will be conducted on Tuesday after the arrival of the his family members.

“No foul play is suspected so far,” he said.
