Man stabbed to death for resisting robbery attempt in South West Delhi

A 32-year-old man was chased and stabbed to death for resisting an attempt to robbery in Sagarpur area of South West district on Thursday early morning.

Police said a PCR call was received at 4.36 am about a man lying in a pool of blood in front of Arya Samaj Mandir in Sagarpur area. A police team rushed to the spot and the injured was taken to DDU hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased was identified as Monu Tyagi, a native of Muzaffarnagar. He had come to his uncle's house and was on the way to railway station when the incident took place.

Devender Arya, DCP (South West), said that no eyewitness was found. A FIR has been registered at Sagarpur police station under IPC section 302 (murder). Police teams are formed to trace out the accused. One suspect has been detained for questioning.

Mr. Arya added that a CCTV of the incident has been obtained by the investigation officer in which a group of people were seen trying snatch a bag from the victim and when he resisted the robbery attempt. They stabbed him multiple times in chest and lower abdomen before he collapsed.
