A day after a senior IPS officer shot himself dead with his service pistol at his official residence in Sector 30 here, Faridabad Police on Thursday arrested Inspector Abdul Sahid on charges of abetment to suicide.
Posted as the Station House Officer at Bhupani police station, Mr. Sahid was suspended and arrested after he was detained for questioning in the matter. He will be produced before the court on Friday and taken on police remand.
Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar has also constituted a special investigation team for detailed probe in the matter.
Posted as DCP, NIT, Faridabad, Vikram Kapoor had, in a note that he left behind, accused Mr. Sahid for driving him to take the extreme step. He said the inspector blackmailed him.
