Following a plea alleging violation of environmental norms by industries operating in Faridabad, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has sought a report from the Haryana State Pollution Control Board and other authorities.

A Bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel observed, “Grievance in the application is against alleged industrial pollution in violation of environmental laws by industries operating in Faridabad which is outside notified industrial areas. The applicant has relied on the photographs in support of the case.”

Directing authorities to furnish relevant data within two months, the Bench said, “Before we consider the matter further, we find it necessary to seek a factual and action taken report from the HSPCB and the District Magistrate, Faridabad.”

The directions came on a plea by Jitender Sharma who alleged air pollution in the area caused by industries that are operating in the area.
