The BJP’s North West Delhi candidate, Hans Raj Hans, on Wednesday promised residents he would make the seat “the most prosperous” constituency, if elected.

The popular Punjabi singer addressed several public meetings in the Mundka Assembly constituency along with his son Navraj Hans. He also held roadshows in Mangolpuri and Sultanpuri.

“I come from the world of music... the way people enjoy the music in this Parliamentary seat, I will not only win the hearts of the people but also try to make this Lok Sabha seat the best,” Mr. Hans told voters.

“I have been impressed not only with Prime Minister Narendra Modi but the BJP and the millions of workers who, when the PM was taking tough decisions, supported and strengthened the party further,” he said.

Mr. Hans said that though he was in campaign mode, he was also “trying to understand” the fundamental problems of the North West Delhi constituency to which “the Arvind Kejriwal-led government has done a lot of injustice”.

“The AAP government has done a lot of injustice in this area. This is the failure of the Delhi government. Because of this, the Narela Assembly seat is deprived of the metro. Had the Kejriwal-led government not made false promises, today the Centre would have brought the metro to it,” he said.
