Railways cancels, diverts and terminates several trains from Friday to Monday

Train services on Kerala-Mangaluru-Mumbai sector were hit following a landslip between Padil and Kulashekara section in the city on Friday.

It forced the Railways to cancel, divert and terminate many trains on Friday and till Monday.

Train No 56640 Mangaluru-Madgaon Passenger, train no 56641 Madgaon-Mangaluru Passenger, train no 22636 Mangaluru-Madgaon Intercity Express, train no 22635 Madgaon-Mangaluru Intercity Express have been cancelled for three days — on August 24, August 25 and on August 26, a Konkan Railway release said.

It said that train no 16346 Thiruvananthapuram-Lokamanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai) has been cancelled on August 24. Train No 12202 Kochuveli-Lokamanya Tilak Terminus Garib Rath Express has been cancelled on August 25, it said.

Train No 22653 Thiruvananthapuram-Nizamuddin Express and train no 16337 Okha- Ernakulam Express have been cancelled on August 24, a Southern Railway release said.

“Despite inclement weather, restoration work by Railways is going on in the section affected by landslip,” it said.

The release said that train no 12134 Mangaluru Junction-Mumbai CSMT Express will be operated from Surathkal station on August 24, August 25 and on August 26. It will not start from Mangaluru Junction station on these days.

Train no 12133 Mumbai CSMT-Mangaluru Junction train will be terminated at Surathkal station on Saturday and Sunday.

Train no 12620 Mangaluru-LTT Matsyagandha Express will also start from Surathkal station on Saturday, Sunday and Sunday. Its pairing train no 12619 from LTT to Mangaluru will be terminated at Surathkal on Saturday and Sunday.

Train no 70106 Mangaluru-Madgaon DEMU passenger will start from Thokuru station on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Its pairing train no 70105 from Madgaon to Mangaluru DEMU passenger will be terminated at Thokuru station.

Train no 12201 Lokmanya Tilak-Kochuveli Garib Rath Express, train no 16338 Ernakulam-Okha Express, train no 22634 Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Superfast Express and train no 19578 Jamnagar-Tirunelveli Express were cancelled on August 23.

Mangaluru Central-Madgaon Passenger and Mangaluru Central-Madgaon Intercity Express trains were also cancelled.

Matsyagandha Express train leaving Mangaluru Junction for Mumbai left from Surathkal.

Train No 12431 Thiruvananthapuram-Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express was diverted to run via Shoranur, Podanur, Erode, Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Renigunta. Train no 19331 Kochuveli- Indore Express was diverted to run via Shoranur, Podanur, Erode, Jolarpettai, Kaptpadi and Renigunta.

Train No 16346 Thiruvananthapuram-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Netravathi Express was short terminated at Ernakulam and train no 16340 Nagercoil-Mumbai CST Express was short terminated at Dindigul on Friday.
