A 22-year-old singer and dancer of an orchestra on Sunday succumbed to injuries he had sustained while doing a stunt for a TikTok video.

Kumar, a singer and dancer of Ramu Melodies and resident of Godekere in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumakuru district, died at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru.

He had injured his spinal cord and neck while doing a back flip, the police said.

Kumar’s videos were popular on the app. On June 15 evening, he tried a back flip but lost balance and fell to the ground. He was paralysed after he broke his spinal cord.

His friend shifted him to the taluk government hospital, from where he was referred to Victoria Hospital.

Kumar is the son of Narasimhamurthy and Ramakka, both labourers.
