Pondicherry varsity moves up in rankings

Figures in the 201-250 ranks category among the Asian universities

Pondicherry University has improved its rankings in the latest performance tables released by The Times Higher Education, published by Times Higher Education magazine.

In the recently released Asia University Ranking by Times Higher Education was ranked in the category of 201 to 250 among the Asian Universities.

The current year ranking is a marked improvement over the years as the university was ranked under 250-300 category in the last year Asia University Ranking 2018, a press note from the university said.

Pondicherry University has been participating in the Times Higher Education ranking since 2017.

The university rankings is one of the global performance tables that assess universities performance among the Asian Universities.

The ranking uses rigorous performance indicators, examining each university’s strengths against all of its core missions — teaching, research, knowledge transfer, student’s outcome, social outreach, industry linkage and international outlook.

A university pressnote said the Times Higher Education World University Rankings is considered to be one of the most widely observed university rankings together with Academic Ranking of World Universities and QS World University Rankings.
