Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the Non Resident Telugus (NRTs) living in the US to come forward and invest in their home State, Andhra Pradesh. All services were available through Apps in Andhra Pradesh.

The State government would extend all cooperation to the investors in the State, he said addressing the Telugu community at New Jersey Institute of Technology on Monday.

Terming that ‘brain drain’ was an outdated concept, Mr. Naidu stressed the need for ‘brain gain’. The Telugus excelled in various fields across the globe. It was high time they paid back something for society and the land that helped them grow. They could extend their help for grama darshini - ward darshini programme, and address the issues faced by the people in their native places. The Telugus should not forget two things — one they should work hard, and secondly, they should not forget the motherland, he said, adding, “information of all departments was available, which gives a fair idea of the areas that need assistance.”

‘Be innovative’

Making an appeal to the Telugus to take part in social service in their native place, he said: “Jews stand first in innovative thinking. The Telugus should overtake them and entire world should start talking about innovative thinking of Telugus.” “I have plans to make A.P. a trillion dollar economy by 2029,” he said.

Cancer specialist Dr. Nori Dattatreyudu expressed willingness to work together with the State government. Training would be given to the cancer specialists in the State through the Centre for Excellence in the US. He also responded positively to Mr. Naidu’s request to provide his services to the remotest places in the State.

Natural farming lauded

Permanent representative of India to UN Syed Akbaruddin was impressed with the zero budget natural farming practices being adopted in A.P.. During a luncheon meeting with him, Mr. Naidu explained the natural farming practices in the State. The government had set a target of increasing natural farming to 2 crore acres covering 60 lakh farmers, he said.

Mr. Akbaruddin praised the natural farming practices of A.P. to increase the revenue of farmers.
