Backward Classes leader R. Krishnaiah on Sunday called upon members of the BC communities to vote for the YSRCP as its president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy promised to support their demand for reservation in the legislative bodies.

Speaking at the BC Garjana organised by the YSRCP here, Mr. Krishnaiah asked people to choose the right party – between the TDP, which was giving pensions to attract the voters, and the YSRCP, which was promising to share power with the BCs. Mr. Krishnaiah praised former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who had favourably responded to the demands of the BCs and implemented schemes benefiting lakhs of BC families and students.

“The time has come for the BCs to share power and choose the right person,” he said.

Mr. Krishnaiah recalled how Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had opposed the promotion of two BC Judges, underestimating their capabilities.
