Did the name of former Minister S.A. Ramdas figure in the list of Bharatiya Janata Party legislators cleared by the party’s central leadership?
According to sources in the party, Mr. Ramdas figured in the list that reached Bengaluru from the central leadership late on Monday. But it was missing in the list of names forwarded by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa to Governor Vajubhai R. Vala for induction.
However, speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Ramdas said he was not disappointed with his exclusion from the Cabinet. “I come from the party cadre and will take all the ups and downs with equanimity,” he said.
His exclusion leaves Mysuru with no representation in the BJP Cabinet. Not only Mysuru, even the neighbouring Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Hassan and Mandya districts are not represented. As such, there is unlikely to be a native Minister in charge of Mysuru district during Dasara.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ramdas referred to his tour of flood-hit districts and said he would involve himself fully in Dasara-related works.
